The Dunamis Ekklesia – An Awakening

Isaiah 7:9b….If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.

Show God your faith and He will show you His faithfulness. For He (God) has given us His mercy which we don’t deserve (His love and eternal life with Him) while showing us His grace by not giving us what we do deserve (punishment for our sins).

This conference is for those Christians who want to experience the power of God working in their lives through the Holy Spirit. For those who want more of God and to see more of God and to experience that power God has given us in 2 Timothy 1:7 “God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of Power, Love and a Sound Mind.” Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – whom shall I be afraid?”

If you want to experience the Power that we’ve been authorized to use and to move to a power filled relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit then this conference is for you. Hang on it’s a wild ride, but a joyful ride. John 5:11 Jesus tells us ‘these things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full (complete, Overflowing like a river of living water).

What things was Jesus referring to in John 5:11? He said in John 14:6, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but through me.’ No other religious leader ever made this bold statement. He made us the righteousness of God through His death on the cross allowing us to ‘come’ before God, not by our works, but by the atoning blood of the Lamb of God, the ‘Way’. He provides us his ‘truth’ in the Living Bible – our sword in the spiritual battles. He gives us eternal ‘life’ by conquering death and through all this He gives us hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 ‘…. Plans to give you hope and a future.’

In Romans 3:25 “God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement (reconciliation), through the shedding of His Blood.” This made us righteous (right with God) and justified us through our faith as righteous before God through the powerful Blood of Jesus. Therefore, having faith in God makes us righteous with our Father. As Romans 4:3 states “What does Scripture say? Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.” So our faith (belief in God and His word) makes us also righteous with Him and is our justification. As Romans 4:25 states that “He (Jesus) was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” Jesus took our sins on himself and washed them with His blood and made us the righteousness of God.

We have the truth and the truth will set you free – John 8:32 Jesus tells ‘then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free’. Matt 6:33 “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be given to you”. The “Things” talked about here are the power and authority we have as New Testament priests (1 Peter 2:9 ‘But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do His work and speak out for Him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference He made for you…” – by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony) through the power of the blood of Jesus Christ, with the presence, teaching and inspiring of the Holy Spirit. Rev 12:11 “They overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and the ‘WORD’ (who is the word? Jesus) of their testimony”.

Let’s read Matthew 25:14-30. This parable touches not only our stewardship with the assets God has given us, but also our stewardship with our skills, abilities and knowledge of God’s word. What have you done with the assets God has given you, what have you done with your skills, abilities and knowledge of the redeeming word of God? Which believer/Steward are you? A three talent, a five talent steward who gets a ‘well done good and faithful servant- enter into the joy of your Master’ and is given greater responsibility or are you the believer/steward who hides their talents and who is called wicked?  Your talents are also the gifts of the Spirit. Are you living out your faith to save souls for the kingdom per our marching orders or are you afraid to step out and are hiding your talents?  2 Tim 1:7. God didn’t give us a spirit of fear but a Spirit of power. Which spirit are you living under?  It doesn’t matter what your talents are it’s what you do with them that matters to God and therefore to you.
Jesus is in the heaven’s sitting at the right hand of the Father interceding per Romans 8:34 ‘….and he (Jesus) is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.’ for us while our Power comes through the Blood of Jesus, the Holy Spirit and prayer. This is how we exercise our power and authority. Romans 8:37 ‘ Now, in all these things we are more than conquerors though him (Jesus) who loves us.’

The Blood of Jesus

As New Testament Priests we have the right and authority to use (sprinkle with the word of our mouth) the precious blood of Jesus just as the priests in the Old Testament used the blood of animal sacrifices. There’s power in the Blood, the wonder working Blood of the Lamb.

The life of a living creature is in the blood. In Leviticus 17:11 “For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.” Blood itself is not life, but it carries life. When a creature dies the life leaves the blood. So life itself is spiritual but it needs a carrier and that carrier is the blood.

The blood of Jesus is pure. It is without sin. It was apart from Adams sin because Jesus was given life through God by the power of the Holy Spirit and He (Jesus) knew no sin. Jesus says in John 14:6 “I am… the Life”. The Holy Spirit is Life. So His blood is life cleansing and powerful. That old hymn ‘the power is in the Blood the Life giving Blood of the Lamb’.
In Hebrews 9:22 it states “In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood for without the shedding of Blood, there is no forgiveness.”  When Jesus shed His Blood on the cross it was for the forgiveness of our sins and we were purified with His blood.  We can now, as New Testament Priests, sprinkle the Blood of the Lamb on anything needing purification, protection, healing, deliverance – call on the Blood.

In Ephesians 1:7 we’re told “In Him we have redemption (which is the act of making something more acceptable – the righteousness of God) through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”

Holy Spirt

In 1st John 5:7-.8 we are told ‘There are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus) and the Holy Ghost and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in the earth, the Spirit (in the context the spirit of the word of God spoken in power representing the authority of Jesus Christ, the living word), and the Water (the baptism, or the washing of regeneration, rebirth as a new person in Christ Jesus) and the Blood (that has set us free from our sinful self’s and that as New Testament Priests we can use in Power for sign’s, wonder’s and miracle’s) and these three agree in one.”

In Acts 1:8 Jesus said “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;” and in John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you (in the Word). Also in John 14:15-17 Jesus tells us “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray (intercede) with the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever- the Spirit of Truth…” and in Ezekiel 36:27 we’re told “I will put My (God) spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” Jesus tells us in John 14:26 “but the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you”. As you read your word (who is the word? Jesus) on a daily basis the Spirit will feed you with knowledge, power and authority. In Mark 16:17-18 Jesus says “And these signs will follow those who believe; In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” The spirit will create in you a hunger for more and more of God. As we plead the Blood of Jesus the Holy Spirit will come to us and empower us to wonders, signs, healings and 2 Corinthian 10:5 “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

  1. L. Moody says “The first work of the Spirit is to give life – spiritual life. He gives it and He sustains it. If there is no life, there can be no POWER.” The Holy Spirit is the Comforter and the Teacher. The Holy Spirit not only teaches us the Word, but then teaches us to apply it for the Glory of the Kingdom. Through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit we possess superhuman POWER. The same Holy Spirit that inspired the prophets and the apostles will teach, empower and inspire us.

Prayer

When Jesus prayed he always prayed the solution, he prayed for the desired outcome he never prayer the problem. God wants us to be strong in our prayers, not beggars but conquerors. Jesus tells us in John 16:23b “Very truly I tell you, my father will give you whatever you ask in my name” and in John 14:12-14 “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these…..You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it”. In John 10:10b Jesus tells us “I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly”. The abundant life Jesus is referring to is exercising the power and authority that He has given us that power and authority referenced in Matt 6:33 “all things”. So our prayers are commands for results that we can make with authority as children of the Living God, the great I AM.

The Word (Bible)

Jesus said in John 14:6 that “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the father except through me.”  So in John 1:1-2 John tells us “In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He existed in the beginning with God.”  So Jesus is the Word and the Blood of the Lamb was shed for the forgiveness our sins is LIFE to those who believe.

In John 15:7 Jesus tell us “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” Now that’s powerful, whatever we ask will be done for you – do you believe in Jesus and His Word and His promises? LIFE to those who believe!

When God’s word takes root in your flesh it becomes greater than any circumstance. John 15:7 says…..god’s word is perfect spiritual law. It must be applied on a regular basis. You must speak God’s word to your individual circumstances or situation someone else can’t do it for you.

When God’s word becomes engrafted or infused into your spirit it becomes a part of you, it becomes alive and will change your heart.

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life. (John 6:63 NIV)

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. (Romans 8:11 NIV)

Gifts

In 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 we are told “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit….But the manifestation of the spirit is given to each one for the profit of ALL: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretations of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He will.”” Gifts are given on an as need basis. That is if someone is sick we will be given the gift of healing, if someone needs wisdom we will be given the word of wisdom, if someone needs a miracle we will be given that gift or the gift of prophecy or discerning of spirts and the Holy Spirit determines what gift is needed and to whom He will give it. Our job, our mission is to step out in faith and ‘do’ what the Spirit is leading us to do. We cannot let pride or fear prohibit us from doing the will of God. But what if my prayer fails, what if the power is not manifested, wont I look foolish? I would rather strike out swinging than not try at all. I would rather exercise my faith than not be obedient to the one who loves me above all. Jesus says in Matthew 21:21-22 “ Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” So, do you have faith and do you believe? Show God your faith and He will show you His faithfulness.

In Acts 5:12 we see “The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers used to meet together in Solomon’s Colonnade.” Also in Acts 5:16 the “Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed.”

They were empowered after Pentecost, what changed them? How did they change from denying Jesus, running away, locking themselves in a room afraid to go out to speaking out, using their gifts and eventually dying for their faith? With the same power that is available to us today – The Blood of Jesus empowering us through the Holy Spirit and by Prayer. Powerful, demanding, conquering Prayer! By the Blood of Jesus Christ, and the Power of the Holy Spirit your are Healed, set free from depression, given the finances you need….Pray the solution, and the desired answer, the desired results – Pray in Power by the Blood of Jesus Christ and the Power of the Holy Spirit. Demand that the demons be bound and that the person be loosed set free – Pray in Power.

Remember, we are the children of the King, the righteousness of God, paid for with the precious blood or our Lord and savior. We cannot be possessed by satan because we are possessed by Jesus. While satan and his demons can try to influence us we can claim the promise of God’s Word in 1 John 4:4 ‘But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over them, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.’. Take captive every thought and make them obedient to Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5b). Put on the armor of God and boldly battle the evil in this world knowing that we have the victory in the One who Conquered death for us.

Salvation, Righteousness and Power are yours through the atoning act of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Jesus provided life by conquering death, reconciled us with God and gave us the Power of His Blood in one loving act. It’s a free gift to those who believe.   So are you living in the here and now or are you trusting in the promises of hope and a future for the there and later so that you can experience the abundant life that Jesus promised today? Here’s one to meditate on – Psalm 103:3-5 He ‘Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.’

When Jesus died on the cross for us He gave us Salvation (life), justification (way) and grace (truth). Through His sacrifice, once for all, we have salvation for eternal life through the forgiveness of our sins, justification because we are now the righteousness of God and grace through our purification and empowerment by the blood of Jesus Christ and the word of our testimony – the Holy Bible. We have been taught who Jesus is and that he died to forgive us our sin and thereby we have been taught condemnation, to focus on what we can’t do, be righteous. Our teachings have caused us to attempt to be self righteous which is impossible. We’ve been taught a performance theology and one of condemnation. We have given up one law for another and have missed the point of Jesus’ sacrifice for us. He died to give us eternal life (salvation) and to be the atoning act to justify us and make us righteous before God – through his blood, His righteousness. That’s the amazing gift to those who believe in their heart and speak with their mouth that Jesus is the son of God. See Romans 10:9 “If you declare with our mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” All of this by the grace of God and not of your own works, you can’t do it.

What is Grace? In 2 Corinthians 12:9 ‘”My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.’ Let’s look at the meaning of grace so that we can understand exactly what it is that God has given us. Some of the definitions of Grace are ‘Unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification. That is for our approval, favor, mercy, pardon, a special privilege, reprieve.’’

What does sanctification mean? As Christians we believe that the suffering and death of Jesus Christ is responsible for the sanctification of all humankind who believes in Him. That means we are free from sin; we are purified, cleansed, purged from sin.

What is Justification? It is the act of being justified, which is to be proven to be just, righteous.

What is Righteousness? It means to be morally good, following religious or moral laws, free from guilt or sin, excellent.

Jesus Christ did it all he justified us, he sanctified us, he atoned us and therefore we are justified by our faith in Jesus Christ and not by our works. For it is by our faith that we are made strong and please God. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:8-9 ‘For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.’ And in Hebrews 11:6 ‘And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Romans 10:17. ‘So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.’ We are no longer under the law of sin and death but have been set free and made righteous by what Christ did on the cross for us. Once and for all.  In Romans 8:1we are told ‘Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.’ Romans 8:1–2 (NIV).
